Routes for everyone's taste: as on a canvas of a great painter
France, with its wide extension from North to South and from East to West, allows magnificent routes for all tastes.
There are the great alpine climbs that need no introduction, such as the Galibier and Alpe d’Huez: destinations to be included in fabulous tours that wind along other marvellous roads, reaching passes that are not so familiar even to the most passionate.
And why not aiming for the great Pyrenean routes? They range from not-too-high green roads, such as the Col de Marie-Blanque, to legendary peaks over 2000, such as the Col du Tourmalet. The Pyrenees offer an excellent cycling satisfaction, but also glimpses and details that the eyes will never forget: like the tiny road that leads from the summit of the Col de Tentes to Port de Gavarnie.
However, France also means Provence. Many fabulous facets can be found in the roads of a single region: from the more classic touring routes to the fantastic and wild landscapes of the Gorges du Verdon, Mont Ventoux or the Col de Turini, to the Côte d’Azur.
The destinations and tips we have suggested are just a sample of the routes proposed by Gaudens Cycling.
